“Tagging the Canon” – Graffiti Intervention Project

Students choose a famous artwork (from art history textbooks) and “intervene” by:

  • tagging it

  • reinterpreting it

  • overlaying contemporary iconography

  • adding portraits of overlooked figures

This can be a combination of printed reproductions or digital layers with original artwork, fabrics, collage materials and sculptural elements.
